2025 Greek Community Women’s Cup: A historic kick-off for women’s football

The Greek Community of Melbourne is set to make history with the inaugural 2025 Greek Community Women’s Cup, kicking off on Sunday, 2 February, at Northcote City FC’s renowned John Cain Reserve (ΗΡΑΚΛΗΣ).
The tournament, a collaborative effort between the Greek Community of Melbourne and Australian Football Skool is hosted by Northcote City FC and has exceeded expectations, with a stellar lineup of women’s teams ready to compete.

Northcote City FC President Michael Skliros and Secretary Arthur Zygouris expressed their enthusiasm for hosting the event, welcoming the opportunity to support the Greek Community Women’s Cup at the iconic John Cain Reserve.
“We are proud to host this tournament, which not only celebrates football but also highlights the important role of women in the sport within our community,” they said.
The opening round of the Women’s Cup follows directly after the Greek Community Men’s Tournament, ensuring a seamless transition and the same high standard of event management provided by the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM).
