Eight Countries Willing to Join Bulgarian Naval Exercise Breeze 2023

A national naval exercise with international participation, codenamed Breeze 2023, will take place in October, BTA learnt from the Bulgarian Navy Headquarters.

Albania, Belgium, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Romania, Turkey and the US, as well as the NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU) in Sofia, have said they are willing to join the exercise.

The holding of the exercise was discussed at a planning conference with the participation of the Ministry of Defence, the Navy Headquarters, the Flotilla of Combat and Auxiliary Ships, the armed services and the Communication and Information Support and Cyber Defence Command, representatives of the naval forces of NATO member states and Partnership for Peace countries.

The options for drilling the particular episodes both at sea and on shore through interaction between the fleet and various governmental and non-governmental institutions and organizations were discussed at the conference.
