In a departure from previous years’ local events, the Food For Thought Network (FFTN) will be honouring this year’s International Women’s Day with a series of keynote addresses and active participation at events of various local organisations dedicated to women’s causes
By collaborating with groups committed to advancing women’s rights and opportunities and supporting their cause, the FFTN aims to “amplify its impact” while honouring the international day “with a renewed commitment to its founding principles of inclusion and empowerment.”
Founder and chair of FFTN, Varvara Athanasiou-Ioannou AM, who was recently recognised in the Australian Day Honours Awards, will serve as a keynote speaker at several community events, including at Team Agapes, at the IWD event at Philhellene Restaurant and at Hawthorn’s Rotary Club, where she will also speak about her book “Her Voice: Greek Women and their Friends”.
“As we unite with communities around the world to commemorate International Women’s Day, FFTN remains steadfast in its mission to inspire inclusion, elevate voices, and pave the way for a brighter, more equitable future for all.
“We urge our members and friends to support these and other community events celebrating the power of the collective.”
For 2024, the FFTN aspires to take its organisational vision beyond local endeavours, hosting their inaugural global conference in Ioannina this September.
Early Bird registrations are open till the end of March. For more visit the organisation’s website www.fftn.org.au
