The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office has said it has filed charges against the Belanoca-Baron group and the one headed by Rade Trajkovski (aka Stekli). The two charges concern multiple crimes, including murders, the institution explained on Tuesday.
Nine people have been charged, whereas six persons are at large. The first murder was committed in 2014.
The Belanoca-Baron group ordered and committed, through logistics, four murders, according to the Office, including the 2023 one of Orhan Bajrami in Greece. The second group has been charged on suspicion of two murders and one double murder. Three suspects are at large. A survivor recognised two people.
“They would be coordinated and committed from a prison. Plans would be made on how to deprive of liberty also the person that survived in order for there not to be criminal proceedings“, the Office said.
The criminal groups would often plan serious crimes, it was explained.
“It’s about an exceptionally serious structure of criminals being prosecuted for extortion, threats, criminal association, but also grave crimes such as burning of facilities”, the institution added.
The group headed by Stekli consisted of 17 persons. Seven people have so far confessed and reached a plea deal with prosecutors.
