Passenger traffic at the 24 HCAA airports increased by 6.4% in the first 9 months of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. Overall, at all 39 Greek airports, a 4.5% increase in passenger traffic and 3.7% in aircraft movements was recorded, according to data from the Civil Aviation Authority.

Passenger traffic at the 24 airports managed by the Hellenic Aviation Authority (Heraklion, Kalamata, Alexandroupoli, Limnos, Astypalaia, Ioannina, Chios, Kozani, Kastoria, Karpathos, Kythira, Milos, Skyros, Nea Anchialos, Paros, Syros, Araxos, Naxos, Kalymnos, Ikaria, Kastelorizo, Kasos, Leros, Sitia) increased by 6.4% in the period January – September 2025 (9 months of 2025), compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
Specifically, according to the statistics: the total number of passengers (arrivals and departures of international and domestic passengers) in January-September 2025 amounted to 10,792,202 passengers, compared to 10,141,360 passengers in 2024. The state airport of Heraklion, Crete served 1,472,518 passengers in September this year, an increase of 4.2% compared to the same month last year.

A 4.5% increase also occurs in passenger traffic for the 9 months of 2025, at all airports in the country where commercial flights are carried out (39 airports: 24 CAA, 14 FRAPORT GREECE, AIA). Specifically, passenger traffic in the period January-September 2025 reached 68,245,010 compared to 65,290,410 passengers in the corresponding period of 2024.
Regarding the number of aircraft movements (arrivals and departures of domestic and international aircraft), for the 9 months of January – September 2025, at all 39 airports in the country, whose air traffic control is mainly exercised by the Hellenic Aviation Authority, there was an increase of 3.7% compared to 2024. Specifically, in total, in the period January-September 2025, 511,044 flights were carried out, compared to 493,006 flights in 2024.
