Turkey executed a serious new provocation yesterday during the military parade in the occupied territories, marking the illegal declaration of the self-styled state, by violating the airspace of the Republic of Cyprus with Turkish F-16 fighters.
As reported by RIK, four Turkish F-16s illegally entered Cypriot airspace around 11:30 am from the Famagusta area.
Subsequently, two of the Turkish fighters provocatively flew low over the buffer zone in the area of Northern Pole–Kaimakli.
Air Defence Systems Record Violation
The Republic of Cyprus’s air defence systems recorded the Turkish provocation.
A Greek Cypriot citizen captured the provocative action of the two Turkish fighter jets and posted the relevant video on social media.
According to information, the National Guard and the Ministry of Defence have taken the necessary steps, reporting the new Turkish provocation to the United Nations and the relevant organisations.
Turkish Ministry Posts Flag Image
It is recalled that yesterday, the Turkish Ministry of Defence, via its official account on the X platform, posted a photograph of a Turkish pilot saluting with the flag of the self-styled state on Pentadaktylos in the background.
The photograph from the Turkish Ministry of Defence was accompanied by a provocative caption that read: «The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is the name of a blessed epic!»
