Source: in-cyprus.com
The A. G. Leventis Gallery is calling upon contemporary creators to present artwork that is influenced or marked by the events that led to the partition of Cyprus, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the coup d’état and the invasion of Cyprus and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Green Line in Nicosia.
Approaches that explore questions related to Cyprus’ complex cultural identity, conflict, war, peace, division or borders, migration, displacement and cultural transformations over the last half century are welcome.
The selected artists will exhibit their work in dialogue with the artworks of the A. G. Leventis Gallery in the second half of 2024. Also, in collaboration with the academic staff of the Gallery, each artist is requested to participate in the organisation and realisation of a creative workshop that can be directed at any age range.
Proposals must include the following:
- Artist’s CV (2 pages maximum)
- A short abstract (250-500) words explaining their work and how it fits within the themes of the competition

Proposals may be sent electronically to [email protected] or delivered by hand to the reception desk at the A. G. Leventis Gallery (address: 5 Anastasios Leventis Street, 1097 Nicosia), Monday-Friday, 10.00-16.30.
