The two Double-headed eagles of Hellenic football sit atop the competition heading into their derby this coming round, and all eyes will be on their match as anticipation builds to see who comes out on top.

AEK hosts PAOK at “Agia Sophia” Stadium on Monday morning (AEDT) in the closing match of the Greek Super League’s seventh round, with the two unbeaten teams looking to secure a pivotal win over the other.

The two clubs remain the only unbeaten sides in the league this term, adding to the intrigue of the outing as we see if either team will crack.

For PAOK, an away victory would serve as another huge scalp after they beat defending champions Olympiacos last matchday and would see them claim first place.

AEK, meanwhile, will be desperate to make a statement in their first derby of the season and carry on their impressive start.

The round also features a second blockbuster clash, that being Aris’ home fixture against Panathinaikos, which stands as a vital match for the Greens.

The “Trifylli” has gotten back on track in their past two league outings with two wins recorded, though a third triumph here would prove influential in boosting the morale among the team and its supporters.

Aris will be mindful that Panathinaikos is vulnerable and will look to maximise their home advantage to pull off the biggest success yet of their campaign.

Olympiacos is looking to get back to winning ways when they travel away to Larissa to open the round on Sunday morning.

The Piraeus giants were left disappointed after losing to PAOK last matchday, a result they will wish to put behind them as quickly as possible by making an example of Larissa.

The high flying Levadiakos outfit is looking to keep its good form going when they face Atromitos away.

The “blue-greens” currently occupy fourth place and they will no doubt hope to earn maximum points and preserve their position so high up the ladder.

Panetolikos hosts fellow struggling side OFI in a battle between 12th and 13th, with the Cretans hoping to build on their impressive triumph over Aris last round which netted them their first points of the season.

Last-placed Asteras Tripolis is fighting for their maiden win when they battle Kifisia at home on Monday morning.

Volos goes head-to-head with Panserraikos at home with the Magnesia side seeking to continue their strong form of late, which includes three wins in their last four outings.
