Beyond Borders International Documentary Festival in Kastellorizo is launching Audio-Visual Pitching Lab, a groundbreaking platform in Greece that offers emerging documentary filmmakers the chance to pitch their ideas to top industry professionals. The Pitching Lab takes place online via Zoom on August 27-28 and will be live-streamed on Beyond Borders’ YouTube channel.
Supported by DEI, a leading energy provider in Southeast Europe, the initiative connects rising creators with producers, distributors, editors, and film critics. Participants receive expert mentorship to refine their projects and gain access to funding opportunities. The best pitch, selected by the Lab’s jury, will receive a tailored mentorship program with a leading Greek production company; 10-12 projects will be selected and showcased.
Who can participate?
– Film students, emerging directors, and visual artists from Europe, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America.
– Creators with documentary ideas focused on historical and multicultural themes.
– While video submissions are optional, they are encouraged. Strong English proficiency is required.
Submit your application via the official submission form by June 12. Selected participants will be notified by July 6, 2025, with their projects featured in the festival’s official catalog.
