At the same time, on the Greek mainland, a forest fire has broken out at Vourvourou in Chalkidiki.
Some 160 firefighters with seven forest commando teams, volunteers, 49 vehicles and unmanned aircraft have been deployed along the perimeter. Water tankers and construction machinery from the Central Macedonia Region are providing assistance.
Arson Crime Response Teams have gone to Chalkidiki and Ierapetra to investigate the causes of both fires.
