A Greek-Cypriot man who nearly took lives by crashing into the Zygi establishment while driving under the influence, had his license revoked for a month, until such time he will appear before the Larnaca District Court again.
Driving while intoxicated, the 53 year old lost control of the vehicle during the incident last week and caused significant damage to the cafeteria entrance, with customers making a lucky escape.
Police launched a manhunt and found the driver a while later at the local fishing shelter.
He admitted to charges of reckless endangerment, fleeing the scene of the crime, refusing to undergo a breathalyser test, driving an immobilised vehicle and driving without insurance.
On September 15th, the court will pass sentence.
