Cyprus airports hit record 4 million passengers in first five months of 2025

Larnaca and Paphos airports handled more than 4 million passengers between January and May 2025, the first time in history, representing a 12.02% increase compared to the same period in 2024, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced.
In May alone, the two airports welcomed 1.282.882 passengers, marking a 12.47% rise compared to May 2024.
Larnaca airport recorded a 19% increase in passenger volume, whilst Paphos airport experienced a slight decline of 1.36% compared to 2024 figures.
Aircraft movements surge
Aircraft movements increased by 10.25% compared to 2024, reaching 9,518 flights, with Israel, the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany and Armenia serving as primary markets, according to the transport ministry.
Larnaca airport recorded the largest absolute increases in routes to Israel, Poland, the United Kingdom, Germany and Armenia. Paphos registered growth in routes to the United Kingdom, Jordan, Poland, Hungary and Germany.
Conversely, Larnaca experienced the largest decreases in traffic from France, Jordan, Norway, Switzerland and Belgium, while Paphos saw declines from Greece, Romania, France, Estonia and Israel.
