Cyprus and Greece reaffirm commitment to energy interconnection project

President Christodoulides and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to the electricity interconnection project during a meeting on Thursday.

The project, which holds significant strategic and economic importance, aims to connect the electricity grids of Cyprus and Greece.

President Christodoulides informed Mitsotakis about the Cypriot Cabinet’s decision to support the project and participate in its share capital.

The President emphasised Cyprus’ commitment to moving forward with the project once the necessary due diligence and legal processes are completed.
