Cypriot authorities in collaboration with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), have conducted another operation to deport people residing in the Republic of Cyprus without the required documentation.
According to a police announcement, on Thursday, April 4, 2025, a joint return flight organised by Greek authorities, with the participation of Cyprus Police, saw the “repatriation” of 15 people.
This marks the fifth joint operation involving the Aliens and Immigration Service and Frontex in 2025.
In the first three months of 2025, a total of 3,737 individuals residing in Cyprus have been deported through both forced and voluntary return procedures. This figure represents an increase compared to the same period last year, during which 2,901 returns/deportations were recorded.
It is noted that the total number of irregular migrant arrivals in the first three months of 2025 stood at 624, a significant decrease from the 2,981 arrivals recorded during the corresponding period in the previous year.
