Cyprus Film Days 2025 festival announces free masterclasses and workshops

The Cyprus Film Days International Festival has announced an expanded educational programme for its 23rd edition, featuring masterclasses, workshops and specialised seminars aimed at both emerging and established filmmakers.
The festival, scheduled to run from April 4-12 across venues in Limassol and Nicosia, will offer all educational activities free of charge to participants who apply before the March 15 deadline, organisers said on Wednesday.
“This year’s parallel actions include a masterclass in VR filming at CYENS featuring award-winning filmmaker Deniz Tortum, a practical filming workshop inspired from hidden Cypriot myths, and a special casting workshop by celebrated professionals,” the festival organisers said in a statement.
The expanded programme reflects the festival’s growing emphasis on professional development alongside its traditional film screenings. Among the high-profile participants, Emmy-winning casting director Francesco Vedovati (The White Lotus) and Greek casting director Makis Gazis (The Lost Daughter) will lead a two-day workshop focused on international casting processes.
Film professionals will also have access to industry events during the 6th edition of Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days from April 10-12, featuring sessions on alternative film financing and information about funding programmes.
The festival continues its commitment to youth education with the 10th edition of Cyprus Film Days for Children and Youth, which will include five workshops and a short film competition for filmmakers up to 24 years of age.
Regular festival screenings will cost €5 per film, with a €30 festival pass available for all screenings. Students, children, and disability card holders will receive free entry to appropriate screenings.
The festival is organised under the auspices of the Limassol and Nicosia municipalities, with additional support from various cultural and commercial partners.
