€14m revamp planned for Athens university’s Nicosia campus

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens plans to establish a campus in Nicosia’s Tarsi Arcade on Ledra Street, using two buildings jointly owned by the Archbishopric, Nicosia Municipality and a Greek institution.
The Archbishopric will take out a €14 million loan to renovate the space, including seismic reinforcement of both buildings, Archbishop George said. The project will be fast-tracked.
One of the buildings, managed by the Archbishopric and formerly housing ground-floor shops, is currently in a dilapidated state.
