A new top international distinction was received by Professor Elia Psyllaki of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Crete. At the Euroanalysis 2025 International Conference, held in Barcelona, she was awarded the Robert Kellner Lecture Award 2025, one of the most important European distinctions in the field of Analytical Chemistry.
The Robert Kellner Lecture Award recognizes leading European scientists who have made a substantial contribution in the last five years to the promotion of research or education in Analytical Chemistry.
The award was established by the Division of Analytical Chemistry of the European Chemical Societies in honor of Prof. Robert Kellner, of the Vienna University of Technology. It is awarded every two years and the selection is made by a special jury, following a rigorous evaluation process of nominations submitted by the chemical associations of each European country. Previous laureates include leading European scientists of international standing in the field of Analytical Chemistry.
This year, the jury of the awards decided to award the prize to Prof. Elia Psyllaki and in its announcement it specifically mentions “for her significant research contributions over the last five years, especially regarding the theory, practice and impact of green analytical chemistry and green sample preparation”.
It is the first time that this distinction has been awarded to a professor of a Greek university. The awarding of Prof. Elias Psyllaki is a great honor for the Technical University of Crete and for our country, as it highlights the contribution of the Greek scientific community to international research in a field of decisive importance for health and the environment.
