Negotiations between Greece and Cyprus over the final agreement on the electrical interconnection project, known as Great Sea Interconnector (GSI), are intensifying, with significant developments expected in the coming days, as CNA is informed.

Cyprus’s Energy Minister George Papanastasiou has cancelled his planned trip to the Gastech exhibition in Houston, scheduled for September 17-20, due to the ongoing discussions, the sources added.

Key developments are anticipated within the next 24 hours, with a crucial meeting between President Nikos Christodoulides and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis set for September 19 in Athens.

President Christodoulides announced the meeting and, in recent statements, indicated progress in the ongoing talks.
