Europe faces deadly heatwave and water shortages
A heatwave has seized much of Europe, with Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Greece in the thick of it. Temperatures have reached highs of 46 degrees Centigrade, prompting authorities in many countries to place firefighting teams on high alert. It comes as the UN secretary general, speaking in Spain, says "extreme heat is now the new normal”. SED reports from a sweltering London.
