The European Union National Institutes for Culture in Cyprus (EUNIC), in collaboration with the Friends of Cinema Society, and with the support of the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus, have the pleasure of presenting “Europe in Cinema”.
Europe in Cinema is a film series showcasing European films from a wide array of genres and languages over the span of 2025. The film series offers a comprehensive cinematic experience, from thought-provoking dramas to heartwarming comedies.
The second screening in the film series is taking place on 20 March 2025 at 20:30 at Pantheon Theatre, Nicosia. The film series continues with the screening of Bird (2024), a British, American, French and German co-production, directed by Andrea Arnold. The screening is organised by the British Council. Bird tells the story of 12-year-old Bailey who lives with her single dad Bug and brother Hunter in a squat in northern Kent. Bug doesn’t have much time for his kids and Bailey who is approaching puberty seeks attention and adventure elsewhere. The film will be screened in English with Greek subtitles.

Cinephiles will also have the chance to watch films from Austria, Cyprus, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland and Spain. All of them will be screened at Pantheon Theatre in their original language with English or Greek subtitles. Admission to the screenings is free. The film titles to follow throughout the year will be announced at a later date.
