The Metropolitan of Florina, Irineos, and the Mayor of Florina, Vasilis Giannakis, will visit Australia later this month, in a trip expected to further strengthen ties between the Greek diaspora and their homeland.
According to information provided by Giannis Papadimitriou, the two officials will be in Melbourne from 20 to 27 January. During their stay, they are scheduled to take part in a series of meetings with representatives of Greek-Australian community organisations.
The visit aims to reinforce cooperation across social, cultural and educational spheres, while also supporting initiatives that foster closer connections between Greeks of the diaspora and Greece.
The program is also expected to include a stop in Sydney, with further details to be announced in the coming days.
