FORUM OF THE POLISH CHAMBER OF TOURISM | Getting to know the culture of Thessaloniki

From September 28 to October 2, 2025, Thessaloniki welcomed more than 70 members of the Polish Chamber of Tourism, as part of the Annual Forum, which took place for the 1st time in Greece. The event was organized by the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, in collaboration with the Polish National Tourist Office and the Polish Chamber of Tourism.
The conference was honored with the presence of representatives of leading Travel Agencies, Airlines and Journalists from Poland, as well as distinguished personalities in the field, who strengthened the international weight of the organization and highlighted the strategic importance of the visit, such as the CEO, the Deputy Commercial Director and the General Sales Director of LOT Polish Airlines, the Development & Product Manager of Europa Ubezpieczenia, the President and Vice President of the Polish Chamber of Tourism and the President of Rainbow Tours S.A.
Their presence underlined the pivotal role of the new direct Thessaloniki-Warsaw air connection by LOT Polish Airlines, which opens new prospects for strengthening tourist flows and strengthening Thessaloniki-Poland relations.
The event at the Thessaloniki City Hall was particularly special, where the Mayor and President of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Mr. Stelios Angeloudis, welcomed the participants, speaking of a “vote of confidence in Thessaloniki”. The General Manager of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Dr. Kyriaki Oudadzi, presented the city’s rich forms of thematic tourism, while the Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Mr. Vasilis Gakis, highlighted Thessaloniki as a city break and gastronomic destination, worth visiting throughout the year. The presentations were followed by B2B discussions between Polish professionals and tour operators and hoteliers in Thessaloniki, further strengthening the prospects for commercial and tourism cooperation.
Official GALA at the Olympic Museum
The Gala Dinner hosted by the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki was one of the highlights of the Forum. The guided tour of the members of the Polish delegation to the permanent exhibition ‘’Olympic Games’’ was followed by a musical evening with singing and violin. The official guests showed particular interest in the connection of the values of Olympism with the vision of sustainable tourism development of the city, as well as in the unique historical cup of the 1906 Inter-Olympics, which will be hosted in 2024 by the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Live experiences, flavors and images
During the 5-day program, the Polish tourism professionals experienced the energy and life of Thessaloniki, toured the emblematic monuments, and tasted local specialties and wines. The introduction to the wider area of Thessaloniki was completed with a full-day guided tour of Pieria, which was undertaken by the Pieria Tourism Organization.
Strategic perspective
Hosting the Forum in Thessaloniki is a milestone for the international promotion of the city, offering fertile ground for new collaborations and networking. Polish tourism professionals expressed their enthusiasm for the hospitality, museums, history and gastronomy of the city and the wider region, confirming that Thessaloniki is increasingly emerging on the Polish tourist map as a destination with a future and perspective.
