The fastest crossing of mainland Greece on foot (male) has been achieved by George Moulos, a 26-year-old Greek Australian entrepreneur and comedian, according to the Guinness World Records.
In a feat of endurance Moulos walked 1,200 kilometres from Ormenio in northern Greece to Cape Tainaron at its southernmost point from 7 November to 3 December 2024.
Averaging approximately 44 kilometres per day, George’s “March Across Greece” was completed in 26 days, 4 hours, and 15 minutes.

Moulos who has also been recognised as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honouree in Greece, uses his platform to encourage young people to take initiative and contribute to their communities, said that “this was more than just a Guinness World Record attempt”.
Entirely self-funded by George’s business, Ecommerce-Brokers.com, his journey allowed every cent raised to go directly to Greek orphanages.
“The campaign successfully raised $2,000 in partnership with the Greek America Foundation, with every dollar going directly to support children in need,” Moulos told Neos Kosmos via email.

Throughout his journey, Moulos documented his experiences on YouTube and Instagram, sharing personal insights and highlighting the potential of Greece’s younger generation while showcasing the beauty of the country’s landscapes.
By walking through small towns and villages, he sought to “humanise the challenges faced by everyday Greeks and amplify their stories”, proving that grassroots initiatives can make a tangible impact.
“I have a lot of faith in my generation in Greece and in Greeks around the world to make Greece better. There’s a lot of potential here,” Moulos who reconnected with local communities in Greece added.
“If I can do anything with this march, it’s to set an example that even starting from zero… our generation is going to get the job done, regardless.”
