Greek airport bomb hoax case sent to Law Office after minor identified

Cyprus police have forwarded a criminal case to the Law Office regarding a Cypriot minor who was identified by Greek cyber crime authorities as the sender of hoax bomb threats targeting all Greek airports on January 1, 2024.
Police said they received an alert from INTERPOL Athens on January 8 requesting information about a suspect.
Cyprus authorities launched an investigation based on the received intelligence.
Due to the suspect’s minor status, authorities are following juvenile justice procedures under the Children in Conflict with the Law Act (N. 55(I)/2021) and have declined to provide further details.
Greek authorities have been informed of the investigation’s findings.
