Greek Australian Manoli Nicolas named top commercial leasing agent in Queensland

Commercial real estate agent Manoli Nicolas has been named the Top Commercial Agent for leasing in Queensland at the REA Group Excellence Awards.
Manoli is a founding director of My Agent Aus and has over 15 years of experience in the property industry, most recently spending 12 years at an International Commercial Agency.
This is the third year in a row he has won an award, being named the number one leasing agent in QLD last year and the number one sales agent in 2022.
But this year it is much more meaningful he told Neos Kosmos, because he went out on his on his own.
“I was previously with one of the national firms for 12 years and we just opened up our own brand called My Agent Aus,” he said.
“It was a massive learning curve but extremely exciting at the same time.
“We had very loyal clients deciding to follow us, not all of them, but the majority of them decided to follow us with the new business.”
“We’ve had really good success straight away. My business partner, Tasmin, basically, opened the business for us and we did 95 listings in 90 days and I think we’ve done about 38 deals in the first four months that’s settled.”
Manoli said being able to speak Greek has been very helpful with clients from the Greek community.
“A lot of the older Greeks feel very comfortable being able to speak to us… the fact that I’m bilingual, it’s helpful.”
“All the young kids should understand that it’s not a waste of time. They should go and do their Greek school.”
Something that he makes sure his own three kids understand.
Manoli’s family mainly come from Agios Isidoros in Rhodes, while his late grandfather, his dad’s father, was from Cyprus.
Funnily enough, had it not been for the advice of a fellow Greek, Manoli might not be the award winning real estate agent he is today.
“I was going to be an accountant when I finished school and another Greek person told me you’re going to get very bored. So I did property economics at uni.”
From there, he got into residential real estate while studying and the rest is history.
