Greek shipowner Panagis Zissimatos flips MR Tanker

Sea Trade Marine, a Greek tanker and bulker player, has scored big on its most recent asset play.

Brokers tell Splash that the outfit has sold the 2004 built MR tanker Kalamos, a 47,000 dwt, zinc coated tanker, pocketing $17.8m after playing with it for a year. Sea Trade paid Nippon Yusen Kaisha $15m for the tanker last year.

Panagis Zissimatos resurfaced with his outfit Sea Trade Marine in 2022 and has, over the last couple of years, built himself a significant fleet of ships. Zissimatos was famous in the 1990s as head of collapsed Adriatic Tankers, an outfit that later resurfaced.
