Karpathos | Climbing tourism boosted by “Climb & Adventure Fest 2025”

Karpathos hosted the “Karpathos Climb & Adventure Fest 2025” on October 6 and 7, an initiative of the Municipality of Karpathos that took place in Foiniki and Arkasa, with the aim of promoting the island as an alternative tourism destination. The participation was significant, with visitors and athletes from Greece and abroad, including travelers from Poland, Finland, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
The festival was honored with the presence of the Ambassador of Poland Wojciech Ponikiewski and the Deputy Governor of the South Aegean Apostolis Asprakis, while journalists, photographers and GNTO executives from abroad participated, contributing to the strengthening of international contacts and collaborations for the island.
The Karpathos Climb & Adventure Fest program combined activities such as climbing, hiking and cycling, with pottery workshops, culinary experiences and cultural evenings to meet the residents. Participants had the opportunity to get to know the nature, traditions and hospitality of Karpathos up close.
The event confirmed the island’s potential in the field of alternative tourism, offering a development model that connects action with culture and sustainability. At the same time, it highlighted Karpathos’ potential to expand its tourist season and strengthen the local economy.
The festival was organized by the Municipality of Karpathos, in collaboration with the Polish-Hellenic Chamber, the Chamber of Dodecanese, associations and professionals of the island, with the support of the Greek National Tourist Organization offices abroad.
