Katerina Saridaki “Ecosystem Hero of the Year”

A significant international distinction was won by Katerina Saridaki, director of the CapsuleT Travel & Hospitality Accelerator of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, who was named “Ecosystem Hero of the Year” at the South Europe Startup Awards 2025, as part of the Global Startup Awards, which took place on Wednesday, October 8, in Malaga, Spain.
This distinction recognizes her contribution to the development and strengthening of the Greek startup ecosystem, particularly in the tourism and technology sectors. Since 2013, when she took her first step in the Greek startup environment, Katerina Saridaki has dedicated herself to supporting young entrepreneurs and innovative ideas, while with the creation of CapsuleT in 2019, she contributed decisively to the establishment of the first Greek accelerator for travel tech startups.
During the award ceremony, she referred to the journey of recent years, the challenges faced by the industry, especially during the pandemic, but also to the dynamic community of young founders, mentors and collaborators who contributed to the evolution of the ecosystem. As she emphasized, this award belongs to all those who believed in the vision of CapsuleT and supported its journey.
Katerina Saridaki, in a post, expressed her warm thanks to the president of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, Alexandros Vassilikos, for his trust and support, as well as to the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels. She also referred to Chryssa Vrouzi, Vassilis Papakonstantinou and Katerina Santikou, for their decisive role in her journey.
As he noted, “an ecosystem cannot exist without collaborations, people with a common vision and willingness to support it.”
At this point, it is worth noting that 25% of the final score of the award came from the public vote, which gives even greater value to its recognition.
