Monday nights in the beautiful suburb of Clarinda, Clayton, are once again dedicated to the pride of the area, the historic Kingston City, after a nearly 5-month without football action.
In the opening round of the new VPL1 season, Kingston City welcomed Melbourne Srbija with the aim of starting the season with a crucial three points.
And that’s precisely what the squad, led by the very experienced Tagkalakis and Tsolakis, achieved.
Despite an ominous start to the game for the Greek Australian team, the players found the mental fortitude to turn things around and ultimately emerge victorious.

The visitors took an early lead in the 1st minute, but the “red and whites” responded swiftly, leveling the score in the 6th minute.
The “eagles” rallied again in the 29th minute, regaining the lead for the Springvale team.
But Clarinda proved too tough to break.
First, they equalized once more in the 42nd minute, and then sealed the win with a spectacular goal by Damian Iakonis in the 84th minute, sending the home crowd into raptures.
Now, the Greek Australian team is focusing on their next challenge, a particularly tricky away game against Western United. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3pm on Saturday, February 15.
