Kyriakos Mitsotakis meets with Archbishop Makarios of Australia

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with Archbishop Makarios of Australia at the Maximos Mansion, to discuss their shared commitment to philanthropy and social initiatives.
The Prime Minister praised the Archbishop’s efforts in strengthening the bonds between Greece and the diaspora.
Additionally, Archbishop Makarios visited the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), where he was welcomed by Rector Professor Gerasimos Siassis and Treasurer of the School of Theology Professor Emmanouil Karageorgoudis. The meeting focused on collaboration opportunities in education.
Archbishop Makarios highlighted the important work of the Orthodox Church in Australia, including its educational efforts and programs to preserve the Greek language.
Both parties expressed their intention to further develop cooperation between the University of Athens and the Holy Archbishopric of Australia.
