A huge explosion has happened in Austin, Texas.
It occurred in the Great Hills neighbourhood in 10400 block of Double Spur Loop in the North West of the city. Three people are reported to have been pulled from the rubble of the two story property and are currently being treated by emergency services.
One firefighter has minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Fire crews are trying to put out flames that are still burning on the debris.
Officials say several neighbouring homes were damaged. One home has completely collapsed and another house is partially collapsed.
Power is also out as the fire has damaged power lines.
This comes as residents woke up “in fear” to a massive explosion which was so big it caused properties miles away to shake. It is believed to have been a house explosion.
Officials have reported that there are “multiple patients” as a result of the incident. Witnesses are saying the major blast ” shook buildings for miles “, with one person left terrified after it “rattled” their windows, shaking their entire building.
Residents are taking to X to share what has happened, despite little being known so far.

It is reported that authorities have closed off the area where it happened and the home was destroyed.

A shockwave from the powerful blast damaged houses nearby.
Texans aren’t new to explosions and for many it may have brought back bad memories of a major incident which happened in 2013 in which 15 people were killed.
On April 17, 2013, an ammonium nitrate blast at the West Fertilizer Company storage and distribution facility shook residents of West Texas.
Emergency services were responding to a fire at the facility when it happened. As well as the 15 fatalities, more than 160 were injured, and more than 150 buildings were severely damaged, many being completely obliterated.
Investigators confirmed that ammonium nitrate was the material that exploded.
Three years later in 2016, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives stated that the fire had been deliberately started.
