Minerva Bunkering has expanded its operations and supply network across the Americas with the acquisition of Bomin Bunker Oil.
The subsidiary of commodity trader Mercuria has picked up the Houston-based company from Mabanaft Group for an undisclosed sum.
Bomin supplies bunkers in Houston and surrounding US Gulf ports, Norfolk, Virginia, Panama and Ecuador.
Geneva-based Minerva was set up in 2019 after Mercuria’s takeover of Aegean Marine Petroleum Network.
The latest move will see the company, which also operates in Athens, New York, Singapore, Antwerp and Las Palmas, establish a physical supply operation in Houston for the first time.
“This acquisition marks an exciting extension of our footprint in the Americas,” said Tyler Baron, CEO of Minerva Bunkering. “By integrating Bomin’s assets and capabilities, we can better serve our customers and deepen our physical supply presence in strategic markets like Houston and Norfolk.”
