Victoria will enjoy a public holiday on Monday for Moomba Day, with Melbourne’s city center set to host the festival’s iconic parade. The annual event, featuring hundreds of floats and costumed participants, draws hundreds of thousands of spectators on-site and millions more watching live on Channel 9.
The parade will commence at 10.45am from Linlithgow Avenue in Kings Domain, proceeding along Birdwood Avenue before concluding at the Shrine of Remembrance.
This year’s Moomba Monarchs are the popular comedy trio Sooshi Mango, featuring Italian-Australian comedians Carlo and Joe Salanitri and Andrew Manfre.

Reflecting Melbourne’s multicultural spirit, the parade will showcase performances from various cultural communities, including Greek representation by the Manasis School of Greek Dance and Culture.
“We consider it an honor to represent our Greek community alongside countless other organizations in what promises to be a celebration of unity and cultural diversity,” said Demosthenis Manasis.
The Greek segment will feature a traditional Froura (Guard), followed by dancers from the Manasis School, dressed in authentic Greek costumes and performing traditional dances.
Weather forecasts predict a hot day, with temperatures expected to reach 33°C, making hydration and sun protection essential for attendees.
