The Police intend to proceed with the arrest of more Greek Cypriots in connection with the murder of Stavros Demosthenous the day before yesterday. A source informed Phileleftheros that there is testimony against two individuals for whom there are reasonable suspicions that they are directly connected to the manner in which the perpetrators of the murderous attack against Demosthenous allegedly escaped.
At the same time, information suggests that police investigations revealed that the 44-year-old suspect, who was arrested yesterday and is under an eight-day remand starting today, had sold the large-capacity scooter to another person a few days ago. It is not clear from the information received whether the impending arrests are directly related to the scooter that the perpetrators of the murderous attack allegedly used. However, all the data leads there.
In any case, a large volume of investigative work remains, which does not only concern testimonies from individuals. As stated by an investigator from the Limassol CID today at the Limassol District Court, data will be extracted from the mobile phones of both Demosthenous and the 44-year-old suspect in custody.
