The Melbourne University Greek Association (MUnGA) is set to host a special History and Networking Night on Wednesday, 11 September at the Greek Centre. The event will celebrate the achievements of Greek-Australian students at the University of Melbourne over the past seven decades.
Open to all, the night will provide attendees with an opportunity to connect with past and present MUnGA members, including alumni from various professional fields who have contributed to the association’s legacy.
Speakers will share their experiences, with committee members dating back to the 1960s reflecting on their time in the Greek club.
The evening will also feature a presentation of historical documents and photos unearthed through extensive research into MUnGA’s history, previously known as the Melbourne University Greek Club. These materials shed light on the club’s evolution and its role in fostering a strong Greek-Australian community at the university.
Anyone with past involvement in the club is encouraged to reach out, especially those who may possess old photos, documents, or memorabilia that could further enrich the association’s historical record.
The event is free to attend and open to everyone, whether they were involved with MUnGA or not.
Snacks and light refreshments will be provided, making it a welcoming space for all members of the Greek-Australian community to gather and celebrate the enduring legacy of one of the country’s oldest Greek university clubs.
