The Parish of the Entrance of the Theotokos in North Balwyn held its annual dinner dance on Saturday, delivering a joyful and sold-out celebration at the Stars International Function Centre.
The event drew 450 guests, transforming the night into a lively festival of Greek music and community spirit. Traditional ensemble “Dimotika” performed beloved folk songs from across Greece, while the “Psihogios trio”, Nikolaos, Konstantinos and Katerina, energised the crowd with an impressive Pontian music program.
The dance floor remained full throughout the night, with people of all ages dancing until late, creating an atmosphere filled with warmth, energy and unity.

The festive evening marked the conclusion of the parish’s 2025 feast-day celebrations (21 November).
The celebrations began on the eve of the feast, 20 November, with Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne presiding over the Great Hierarchical Vespers.
On Friday 21 November, the parish honoured the major Theotokos feast with the celebration of the Hierarchical Matins and Divine Liturgy, led by Bishop Christoforos of Kerasounta.
On both days, the church was filled with faithful who came together in prayer to honour the Mother of God.
At the end of the dinner dance, Parish Priest Fr Nikolaos Georgiou expressed heartfelt thanks to the Parish Council, the Ladies Philoptochos, the Parish Youth Group and the parish dance troupe.
He acknowledged their dedication and tireless work in the life of the parish and their invaluable contribution to the success of this year’s celebrations.
