Santorini Experience, the leading sports event that has now become a benchmark in global sports tourism, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. From October 10 to 12, 2025, Santorini will be transformed into one of the most impressive destinations for sports and wellness, welcoming athletes, professionals, amateurs, and sports enthusiasts from all over the world.
Against the backdrop of the imposing Caldera, the iconic Volcano, and the endless blue of the Aegean, participants will enjoy a unique experience that combines the energy of sport with the authentic charm of Santorini. Santorini Experience is not just an event—it is a celebration of sports, culture, and tourism that continues to inspire and attract international attention, proving its timeless value.
Running with breathtaking views
This year’s event features three distinctive routes: the 5km “Aristides Alafouzos” powered by Miele, the 10km powered by SIXT (part of the MOTODYNAMICS Group), and the 15km powered by The North Face. Starting and finishing in Oia, runners will have the unique experience of running alongside the Caldera, enjoying panoramic views of the Aegean and passing through the traditional settlements of Oia, Imerovigli, and Firostefani. The routes combine dirt trails, stone-paved paths, and unforgettable scenery.
Special guests include Olympic medalist, European champion, and national record holder in the 400m hurdles Periklis Iakovakis; world-renowned ultramarathon runner Dean Karnazes, one of the greatest endurance athletes in the world, known for running 560 kilometers in 80 hours and 44 minutes without sleep and completing 50 marathons in 50 U.S. states in 50 consecutive days; and runner and coach Jo Manta, one of Greece’s top ultramarathon athletes. Jo Manta has finished second in the prestigious Badwater 135 and first among women in last year’s Spartathlon.
Swimming with Apostolos Siskos and Konstantinos Stamos
For the first time, European U23 backstroke champion and fifth-place finisher at the World Championships in Singapore, Apostolos Siskos—also an Olympian at Paris 2024—will participate. Alongside him will be Konstantinos Stamos, one of Greece’s top swimmers, who between 2015 and 2021 broke more than 20 national records and claimed numerous domestic and international titles before competing in his first Olympic Games in 2024. Nora Drakou and Yasu Hirai Fukuoka will also join, adding even more prestige to the swimming segment.
The swimming races are supported by the Santorini Boatmen’s Union, Geothira, Lifeguard Patrol, Caldera Yachting, and the Santorini Nautical Club.
Sports and road safety with SIXT

Olympic basketball player Evina Maltsi will host sessions for girls, while EuroLeague legend and European champion with Real Madrid Joe Arlauckas will share his experience.
