Pallaconian Brotherhood Youth host sold-out cultural workshop in Brunswick

The Pallaconian Brotherhood Youth, has hosted a sold-out community workshop at Laconian House in Brunswick, bringing together more than 50 participants for a morning dedicated to cultural connection, learning and koulourakia baking in collaboration with Yiayia’s Glyka.
The event attracted attendees of all ages and backgroundst hrough a hands-on, participatory format, the workshop created a welcoming space for stories, memories and a classic festive treat to be shared across generations.

Organisers said that “the initiative reflected the long-standing mission of the Pallaconian Brotherhood to act as a hub for people of Laconian heritage, the wider Greek diaspora and the broader Australian community”.
Members of Yiayia’s Glyka described the workshop as “a deeply meaningful experience”, particularly seeing younger participants engaging alongside parents and grandparents.

“These moments are about more than a single activity,” they said. “They’re about connection, storytelling and ensuring traditions are passed on rather than lost.”
Encouraged by the response, the Pallaconian Brotherhood Youth and Yiayia’s Glyka said they look forward to hosting further initiatives.
