PAOK went above and beyond in Athens as they left the AEK faithful with nothing to celebrate after earning an impressive win to seize first place.
The Thessaloniki giants secured a 0-2 away triumph over Enosi in the closing game of the Greek Super League’s seventh round.
Their opening goal arrived in the 45th minute through a Baba Rahman header, giving PAOK the lead just before the break.
Giannis Konstantelias then added in their second early into the second half with a strike in the 49th minute.
AEK could not find a reply with the only notable moment being Harold Moukoudi’s late red card (86′).
Anastasios Donis rescued a point for Aris in their 1-1 home draw against Panathinaikos.
The Greens took an early lead after Karol Swiderski put them ahead in the third minute.
Aris took control after that without finding a way back into the game, though it changed in the 75th minute when Donis released a strike that just squeezed under goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski and ensured the points were split.
Volos fought their way to a 2-1 home win over Panserraikos, scoring at the beginning and at the death to grab the result.
The Magnesia side opened the game with a goal via Said Hamulic in the first minute, a lead they preserved until Andrei Ivan equalised from the spot in the 67th minute.
Lazaros Lamprou then stepped up in the 90+1st minute to restore Volos’ lead in what proved the game-winning goal.
Kifisia struck late to earn a 2-2 away stalemate with Asteras Tripolis.
The travellers opened the scoring in the 45+3rd minute via Pavlos Pantelidis, with the Arcadians then responding well with goals from Federico Macheda (49′) and Nikolaos Kaltsas (68′) to get ahead.
Sebastian Musiolik popped up with a goal in the 88th minute to secure a point for Kifisia.
A first-half brace from Ayoub El Kaabi steered Olympiacos to a 2-0 away win over Larissa on Sunday morning.
The game started perfectly for the “red-whites” as El Kaabi found the back of the net inside the first minute.
The Moroccan goal machine then made it two in the 44th minute after converting a penalty in what proved to be the final decisive moment of the match.
Panetolikos came from behind to earn 4-2 home triumph over OFI.
The game kicked into action in the second half, initiated by Juan Neira’s penalty goal in the 50th minute to put the Cretans in front.
The Canaries equalised three minutes later via a Konrad Michalak headed goal (53′) before OFI restored their advantage the exact same amount of time after that via Vasilios Lampropoulos (56′).
The travellers suffered a setback in the 64th minute when Thanasis Androutsos earned himself a second yellow, and the Agrinio side were quick to capitalise on the extra man advantage with Beni Nkololo making it 2-2 from the penalty spot (68′).
Diego Esteban soon put Panetolikos ahead (75′) before Nkololo struck again in the 80th minute to double their lead.
Panetolikos finished the game with ten men after Nikola Stajic received a straight red in the 83rd minute, though it had no impact on the game as they sealed the points.
Levadiakos fought hard to seal a 2-2 comeback draw away against Atromitos.
The Peristeriotes stormed into a two-goal lead with goals from Makana Baku (20′) and Panagiotis Tsantilas (24′), with the “blue-greens” halving the deficit soon after via Pangiotis Simelidis (28′).
Levadiakos eventually levelled the contest in the 78th minute through Sebastian Palacios, earning an impressive point especially given the circumstances they found themselves in.
