A pilot shocked disgruntled passengers by ordering them dinner after a lengthy delay.
The flight was diverted due to an emergency landing and suffered a huge seven hour wait. Feeling bad, the pilot decided to order 30 pizzas to the airport in New Mexico for the passengers stuck on board.
People on board described how to the “disheartening” situation was turned around in a heartwarming way. All passengers at the pilots generosity, which they suggest is not often seen on airplanes.

“Most organizations do not go above and beyond, but that captain did not hesitate,” traveller Tanya Stamos said to Fox News. “His display that evening is what we should have more of: selfless acts of love, compassion and humanity.”
The United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Houston on September 13 had to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque. In an unfortunate situation, someone collapsed in the plane’s bathroom and needed emergency medical attention.
Around 150 passengers had to get off the aircraft and were left stranded. Chaos ensued as workers tried to arrange accommodation for the customers.
Tanya shared her day via a video on TikTok, where she explained that the airline provided $15 food vouchers. However, this was pointless with most restaurants already closed. With several hungry passengers, the generous pilot took matters into his own hands.
He ordered several pizzas for everyone on the plane, making sure everyone was fed and cared for. The pilot appeared to pay for this off his own back.
What’s more, in the video the pilot can be seen serving out the pizza and ensuring everyone was fed before he made a plate up for himself. He could be seen doing it from behind the service desk.
Later on, all the passengers were able to get on a flight and arrived in their original destination, Houston, at around two in the morning. This was about seven hours after they originally intended to arrive.
“As it was my turn to exit the plane, I shook his hand and thanked him,” Tanya added. “Everyone behind me then followed suit and shook his hand as well.”
