The number of homes for sale in occupied Trikomo rose 8.36% in June, driven by a 9.47% increase in apartments and a 2.93% rise in villas, according to data published by Yeni Bakis and reported by the Press and Information Office.
The increase in Trikomo outpaced the overall growth in occupied areas, where the number of homes for sale rose 4%, reaching 23,594 at the end of June.
The data also revealed varying trends across different regions. Occupied Nicosia saw a 4.41% increase in homes for sale, Famagusta 2%, Kyrenia 2.73%, Morphou 5%, and Lefka 3.69%.
Real estate representatives attributed the stagnant sales in Republic of Cyprus-controlled areas to recent policies, warning of potential bankruptcies in the construction sector if a lasting solution is not found.
Occupied Kyrenia and its surrounding areas accounted for 54.5% of the total number of homes for sale in the occupied territories.
