British rock band Jethro Tull will perform at Larnaca’s Pattichion Municipal Amphitheatre on Monday, 22 September, as part of their ongoing world tour.
The concert follows performances in Brussels, Liège and Athens, with the band continuing to Scandinavia after the Cyprus date. The event marks the group’s return to Cyprus 14 years after their performance at Nicosia’s Eleftheria Stadium on 19 February 2011.

The current lineup comprises Ian Anderson on flute, guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, harmonica and vocals, alongside Jack Clark on guitar and vocals, Scott Hammond on drums and percussion, John O’Hara on orchestral arrangements, piano, keyboards and accordion, and David Goodier on bass, double bass and vocals.
Jethro Tull formed in 1968 when British musicians from various local bands began performing together in Luton, north of London. Their breakthrough came with Thursday night performances at London’s Marquee Club.
The band has released over 30 albums and sold more than 60 million records worldwide. Their debut album “This Was” appeared in 1968, followed by significant releases including “Stand Up” (1969), “Benefit” (1970), “Aqualung” (1971) and “Thick As A Brick” (1972).
By the mid-1970s, Jethro Tull had become one of the world’s most successful live acts, achieving popularity comparable to Led Zeppelin, Elton John and the Rolling Stones despite their complex musical compositions.
The band released “RökFlöte” in 2023, an album inspired by Scandinavian mythology. A new album is expected in 2025.
Anderson established the flute as a rock instrument and the band combines rock, folk, jazz and classical elements in their compositions. Their songs feature narrative storytelling with vivid imagery and symbolism.
The Larnaca performance begins at 21:00. Tickets are available through more.com.
