Source: Balkan Insight
In Greece, the menopause is rarely discussed in public, leaving some women to go through it without adequate advice and support. We want to hear if this has affected you – and how.

Sweating, insomnia, fatigue and depression are some of the symptoms of the menopause and the end of menstruation – a natural transition period in a woman’s life, occurring on average between the ages of 45 and 55.
The menopause affects women’s health in many ways and can have emotional and financial consequences. However, in Greece, as in many countries, it is surrounded by societal taboos.
Research has shown that proper information will help empower women to navigate the menopause. But in Greece, a study found major gaps in knowledge, while many women face difficulties in the workplace, such as stress, burnout and ageism.
In order to cover these issues in more depth, we are asking you to tell us about your experiences.
The key things we want to know:
- Has the menopause affected your life?
- How did you handle the situation?
- Have you asked for help or support?
- Do you have access to information about the menopause?
Things to note:
We will not publish any documents or names without prior consent and we do not plan to use specific examples, but rather to show more general, systemic problems. Your responses are secure and encrypted.
Your stories will be used to help us with an ongoing investigation.
How to take part?
To submit your experience, just fill out this form. The questionnaire is available in English and Greek.
