A tragic accident occurred on Saturday morning in Santorini, where a 6-year-old boy from India lost his life in a hotel swimming pool in Kamari.
According to initial reports, the child was with his parents and was part of a tourist group from India. Despite the fact that his parents were also in the pool, they did not realise the moment the child lost consciousness and drowned.
As reported by cyclades24.gr, a defibrillator was available at the scene, and resuscitation attempts were made by hotel staff, but it was already too late. An EKAV (National Centre for Emergency Care) ambulance arrived within seven minutes and transported the child to Thera Hospital, where his death was confirmed.
Authorities proceeded with the apprehension of the hotel manager and the person responsible for the pool, while it has not yet been clarified whether a lifeguard was present at the time of the incident. The case is being investigated by the Thera Police Department.
