The South Australian Multicultural Commission is set to embark on its next phase with a newly appointed cohort, including Greek Australian Chloe Kourakis, as announced by the Minister for Multicultural Affairs.
These appointments, effective from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2027, aim to harness the diverse skills and experiences of leaders dedicated to advancing multiculturalism and interculturalism across the state.
Kourakis joins a distinguished group of professionals such as Luisa Greco, who assumes the role of Chair following Adriana Christopoulos’s decision not to seek reappointment.
Other newly appointed members include Dr Mehmet Aslan, Bernadette Belej, Kimberly Goh, Amarjit Grewal, Ye (Becky) Houston, Manju Khadka, Rajendra Pandey, Hussain Razaiat, Irene Rowe, Khuyen (Quin) Tran, Thuyen Vi-Alternetti, and Denis Yengi.
Kourakis’s appointment, alongside her fellow commissioners, underscores the Commission’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity statewide, laying the groundwork for a cohesive and harmonious community fabric under Ms Greco’s leadership.
