Tatar to Meet UNSG Guterres on Saturday

President Ersin Tatar, currently in New York for the 79th United Nations General Assembly, is scheduled to meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday September 28 at 6.30pm TRNC time.
Guterres met with Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides yesterday evening.
Speaking at Ercan Airport before his departure, Tatar emphasised that during his time in New York, he would explain the national policy and update relevant stakeholders on the latest developments in Cyprus. He also mentioned that they would outline to Guterres why they could not agree to the proposed trilateral meeting.
In addition to his meeting with Guterres, President Tatar will hold a series of discussions with various officials and attend several events. He is also expected to give interviews to the press during his visit.
Accompanying Tatar in New York are Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Special Representative Güneş Onar, Legal Affairs Advisor Sülen Karabacak,
Confidence-Building Measures and Bilateral Technical Committees Coordinator Seniha Birand Çınar, and Foreign Press Officer Kerem Haser.
Tatar is expected to return to the TRNC on Sunday, September 29, at 8pm.
