The non-state, non-profit Thessaloniki campus of the University of York, CITY NPP, licensed by the Greek State, announces the establishment of a Law Department in Thessaloniki, under the academic supervision of Professor Georgios Dellios, Dean of the School of Law and Humanities.

The University of York is ranked among the top 6% of universities worldwide, holding the 146th position in the global university ranking according to Times Higher Education (2025), and is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of the 24 leading higher education institutions in the United Kingdom.
The four-year innovative undergraduate law program, titled “Greek Law with Elements of English Law”, combines in-depth instruction in Greek law (taught in Greek) with selected courses on the common law system (taught in English). This program not only fully covers the knowledge required for legal practice in Greece but also equips graduates to communicate effectively with international colleagues, participate in cross-border negotiations, and present confidently at professional and academic events of an international nature.
Graduates receive a degree from the University of York, fully recognized by the Greek state, with academic and professional rights equivalent to those of Greek universities. Additionally, students have the option to take English-language courses that provide access to the UK’s professional qualification stage for legal practice in England.
Instruction is delivered by specialized academic staff, all holding doctoral degrees and possessing extensive teaching, professional, and courtroom experience, employing innovative teaching methods that combine high-level academic education with the practical application of legal science.
The program in Thessaloniki is scheduled to commence in October 2025, pending certification by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE).
The European Campus of the University of York (city.yorkeuropecampus.eu) currently hosts three schools: the School of Business Administration, the School of Sciences, and the School of Law and Humanities. Once HAHE certification is completed, it will be able to offer programs in Business and Economics, Psychology, Computer Science, Communication, English Philology, and, of course, Law in Thessaloniki.
