Four murder suspects, including a Turkish Cypriot are wanted by the Greek Cypriot authorities, Kibris Postasi reports.
The Greek Cypriot Administration reportedly has sought help from Interpol in locating four murder suspects, including a Turkish Cypriot and two members of the international theft gang known as the “Pink Panthers”.
Greek Cypriot daily ‘Politis’ reported that the names of those wanted for the murder were Panayotis Necati (Turkish Cypriot), Aleks Burreli (Albanian citizen), Sandeep (first name unknown – Indian) and Singh Sarbjit (Indian), and that the names of the members of the theft gang were Serbian Ivan Milovanovic and Montenegrin Goran Milasinovic.
The newspaper noted that Panayotis Necati was sentenced to life imprisonment for premeditated murder in August 2007 and escaped from the Greek Central Prison three months later, together with Odisseas Kalanidis, with whom he was sharing a cell.
The report claimed that Necati, who is now 49 years old, is hiding in the TRNC and is using the names Özgür Atakeler or Özgür Özkan.
