US Ambassador reiterates position on electrical interconnection project

The US Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Fisher, reiterated on Tuesday that the electrical interconnection between Greece and Cyprus represents a significant opportunity for Cyprus.
Ambassador Fisher was asked by journalists, following the meeting between President Nikos Christodoulides and US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, Celeste Wallander, whether the issue of the Great Sea Interconnector was discussed.
“I think we have made our views clear regarding the Great Sea Interconnector and the importance of ending Cyprus’s isolation in terms of its energy supply, and we see this as a significant opportunity for Cyprus,” Fisher stated.
