USA | Greece “Best Tourism Destination” for the Fifth Consecutive Year

Greece remains firmly among the most popular destinations for American travelers, a fact confirmed by the country’s receipt of yet another top distinction in the U.S. market.
Specifically, Greece was named “Best Tourism Destination” for the fifth consecutive year at the GT Tested Reader Survey Awards 2025, organized by the travel magazine Global Traveler (FX Express Publications).
This is a particularly significant recognition for Greek tourism, as these awards are based exclusively on public voting and are regarded in the international travel sector as highly reliable and credible.
During the 22nd edition of the awards this year, voting to identify the top winners across all continents and in more than 90 categories (best destination worldwide, best MICE cities, airlines, airports, hotels and hotel chains, travel service providers, credit cards, etc.) took place from 12 December 2024 to 31 August 2025, with participation from the magazine’s subscribers and readers in both its print and digital editions.
In the “Best Tourism Destination” category, Ireland ranked second and Spain third.
The awards ceremony was held in Miami on 17 December 2025, while the Greek awards for “Best Tourism Destination 2025” and “Best Tourism Destination for the 5th Consecutive Year” were received by the Head of the Greek National Tourism Organization Office for North America, Konstantinos Charokopos (photo).
